Arena Ball!
Just because the Pro Bowl is over it doesn't mean the end of football. Every week Arena Football teams from coast to coast battle in the 50-yard-war. Players who have been snubbed by the NFL for some reason get a chance at redemption and leave it all on the field in an explosive game of offensive football where point are plenty and defense is a dirty word.
Arena football looks like football, but sharp bettors are aware of it's key differences. Most notably, the lack of any significant home field advantage, the openess of the league with regards to information and the premium on o... cont. |
Arena Football: A Whole Different Ballgame
Ever since the Arena Football League’s debut in 1987, it has been widely viewed with skepticism by most NFL fans and football bettors in general. The game is played indoors on a field that is 85-feet wide and 50-yards long. Players, who are often too small or too slow to make it into the NFL, are required to play on both sides of the ball. (Sound famili... cont. |
2004 Austin Wranglers
Austin Wranglers2003 SeasonThose Austin Ice Bats sure were great in 2003.Seriously, I'll bet you didn't know Austin had a hockey team. In fact, the CHL ("Central Hockey League") is something of a phenomenon. Call it the single-A of feeder NHL developmental systems. Lots of two-stepping on ice skates, lots of spilled salsa in the tiny rinks of Laredo and Corpus Christi, and lots of rednecks shaking their heads and saying, "Now wait a minute. You can smear a man's face against the glass, but you can't pass the little puck-thing across two lines?"Except they say it, ... cont. |
