Betting odds tell you two important things: how much a wager can pay and the approximate break-even probability implied by that price.
Negative odds show how much must be risked to win $100. Positive odds show how much profit a $100 bet can return. Example: -110 means risk $110 to win $100. +200 means a $100 bet can win $200 profit.
Decimal odds represent the total return for every $1 wagered, including your original stake. Example: 2.50 returns $250 total on a $100 bet, for $150 profit.
Fractional odds show potential profit relative to the stake. Example: 5/2 means $5 profit for every $2 wagered.
Implied probability is the break-even win percentage represented by the listed betting price before adjusting for sportsbook margin.
